Doris Hakim

Doris Hakim is a Greek – Palestinian visual artist, performer, and filmmaker. She studied Theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a graduate of Athens School of Fine Arts. She has a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and is a PhD candidate at the same university. She has participated in many international collective exhibitions and made three solo ones. Her artistic quest focuses on topics such as feminism and political, religious, and gender violence, criticising their abusive role. She uses different media such as performance, video, “ready-made” and other means. Liwan (2021) is her first documentary on the artistic resistance of the Palestinians living in the state of Israel. So far, it has participated in eight international festivals. She worked at the Public and International Relations Office at the Technical University of Crete and at the Rector’s Office at Athens School of Fine Arts. Since 2021, she has been working at the Secretariat of mέta.
